Dear NASU members,

As another summer rushes by, I begin my presidency of the National Association of Sigma Users (NASU). First and foremost, I would like to thank Kirk Yats for his dynamic and positive tenure as president. Under his leadership, NASU celebrated its 25th anniversary with another successful conference. We are on a roll - together I think we can continue the path that has been set for us!

NASU is an organization of great networking opportunities as it is comprised of over 30 diverse institutions from across the country.

The primary objective of our organization is to advance the effective utilization of Sigma Systems software products and associated technology by promoting the free interchange of information. This is accomplished through a series of avenues:

• The NASU List-serve is a great forum for problem resolution, discovering new ideas and keeping in touch with issues faced by other NASU members.
• The annual summer conference is an excellent way to meet other members, establish new networks, and discover new, or in many cases, improved ways of using the Sigma software.
• Ambassador/Mentor program matches new NASU members with other like type institutional members in order to assist in acclimating new members with the NASU organization.
• Executive Board takes care of the business aspects of the organization.  It also organizes and plans the annual conference, assists Sigma with product enhancements, as well as is responsible for membership and assisting NASU members with their questions and concerns.

Because our organization is based on voluntary participation, we are only as strong as our members so I would challenge you to become involved with NASU and consider serving on the NASU Board. Everyone associated with this organization can take pride in the excellence we have achieved thus far, and we look forward to a very exciting future.

I take this opportunity to thank our past board members for their contributions.  The benefits NASU members has received and been offered is a clear reflection of their hard work over the past few years.
